I remember Rebecca vividly. We met many years ago when we both worked at All Saints hospital in Ft Worth Tx. as L&D nurses. We became great friends.  We lost touch when she returned to her beloved Greely, Co. I thought about here throughout these long years. I am saddened to learn of her passing.

I knew Becky from my sister Jill...Eaton High 1972. Then, got to work with her at NCMC.  Also, got to see and chat with her often at her son's basketball games as they played with my nephews.  What a great gal she was.  So lively, caring and fun.  She always took an interest in my life.  All the things that everyone else has said here are so true...and I concur.  She was a beautiful person.

Carol, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your sister.  I have many fond memories of Becky from high school.  You and your family are in my thoughts.

It’s impossible for me to list all the ways Rebecca has affected my life.  I’ve known her since we were head nurses at the Greeley hospital.  We raised our children together and there are too many memories to count.  Rebecca for me is one of those people who I list as on my personal board of directors because of all the ways she influenced me throughout her life. She always did the perfect, thoughtful thing at the exact time it was needed.  Today I dressed and put on one of my favorite necklaces.  I really didn’t think about the significance of what I was wearing until a coworker pointed out what a cute necklace it was.  The timing of this comment was exactly 10 am as the graveside service for my dear friend was commencing.  The necklace is comprised of worry dolls, which Rebecca had purchased for me when my daughter was younger and in the hospital.  She told me the purpose of the worry dolls is if I told my worries to the worry dolls and put them under my pillow at night, in the morning all my worries would be gone.  I did as instructed and my daughter did recover.  Every time I wear the necklace I think of her, but today it had even more significance.  Rest well, my friend, your worries are over.  You will be missed but never forgotten.

Rebecca was such a special lady, friend, and next-door neighbor.  I enjoyed having Rebecca next door to me after I moved to my house just east to Rebecca's in August of 2013.  Rebecca was such a creative lady who enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens, and she loved making arts & crafts, painting, sewing, and doing so many things.  Sometimes, Rebecca put some of her pretty flowers in a vase and set that on my front porch to surprise me!  What a sweet thing to do!  I could see that Rebecca decorated her home so tastefully along with her interesting antiques in it.  Our friendship was cut short by Rebecca's passing, and I am so sad.  Life will not be the same for me at my house without Rebecca next-door to me.  From my back deck, I could see Rebecca's patio and say ""Hi"" to her, and she would invite me over for morning coffee and conversation.  She took an interest in my life, my boyfriend, and in my two grandchildren.  Rebecca was in the process of making a doll and pretty doll dresses with roses on them for my 5-year-old granddaughter, Melanie Rose, and that just goes to show what a kindhearted, generous person Rebecca truly was!  I loved Rebecca, and I miss her very much!

The news of the passing of Rebecca Sue, or Becky as we called her in nursing school,   came as such sad news today.  Becky's life long love of Greeley, UNC Nursing Program, Greeley healthcare and her boys will be my fondest memories. Our  roommate and traveling adventure to Europe following nursing school proved her agreement that~ Life was about the journey-not the destination.  Her courage and positive attitudes in the face of life's biggest challenges will be something that I will always remember and admire.  Nursing and caring were her calling. Thank you for your kindness to others! Witnessing one of your obviously many kind acts last November, when you took a Christmas Bell Ringer into your car to provide a hot meal and warmth, an act so typical of you we were deeply touched. We did not immediately realize it was you! We were able to have a few wonderful moments to talk with you and share hugs!! This gave us great joy to reconnect!

You were already special to us because we, in later years, found out that you and our Mom had a mutual friendship. This meant a lot to all of us all these years since High School! We will always hold a special place in our hearts for you!
