

Robert Howard Anders, 66, of Greeley passed away February 25, 2017. He was born October 15, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert and Helen Anders. He moved to Greeley with his family when he was 3 years old. He grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley Central High School and attended Aims Community College. He joined the Army in 1971 and served in Vietnam. He had numerous health problems due to exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. Howard married Gail Hergenreder on September 17, 1979. They had one daughter Gretchen Anders.
After returning from Vietnam, Howard worked in the concrete business before going to work at Lucerne, Inc. where he was the manager until his retirement in 2016.
In his early days, Howard was a member of a rock band. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle with his brother-in-law, Wayne and brother Andy. His greatest joy in life though was watching Gretchen dance. He attended many UNC sporting events and dance competitions as a proud daddy in the front row just to watch her dance. He also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Gail, daughter Gretchen, three brothers Richard (Oggie), Ralph (Laurie) and Andy (Robin), brother in law Wayne Hergenreder, nieces and nephews, Katelyn King, Ross Anders, Jennifer Anders, Megan Anders and Zander Anders and his little companion, faithful to the end, Buster. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at Greeley Wesleyan Church. Guests are welcome to wear Harley gear or western attire as a tribute to Howard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northridge High School Athletic Department.
