

“Bob” was a New Year’s baby, born January 1, 1933 in Forest City, Iowa. He was the first child of Elon Burdett Anderson and Jennie Deane Lubben Anderson.
After graduating from Forest City High School in 1950, Bob attended and graduated from Elgin Watchmaker’s College in Illinois. After working for jewelers in Forest City and Hampton, IA, he enlisted in the Army in 1953 to serve in the Korea Conflict.
Bob trained at Fort Benning, Georgia and was trained as a technician in radio repair. As a Corporal Technician, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a good conduct medal.
He was deployed to Okinawa and Iwo Jima at the end of the conflict. One of his favorite memories was climbing to the top of Mount Suribachi to see the iconic American flag that was raised during the WWII battle.
Upon discharge in 1955, watch technology had evolved and Bob adapted by changing career paths. He worked for Dictaphone Corporation, a company that sold early model dictation machines. Later, he joined Avery Products Corporation where he worked in Sales.
Bob married the love of his life, Audrey Jean McAfee in 1955. They raised their children in Ankeny, Ia and moved to Surprise, AZ during retirement. About five years ago, Bob and Audrey moved to Greeley, Colorado. He loved being surrounded by family and a plethora of great grand babies who brought him joy.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Audrey and their children, David, Krista (Dave) Conley, Todd (Emily) and Caron (Mike) Rohman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle Kuhn, Jordan Conner, Chandler Conley, Leah Anderson, Amy Corvidae, John Robert Anderson Rohman and Landon LaBarge. He was also blessed with seven great grandchildren: Quinn Conner, Elliott Conner, Blake Conner, Maverick Conley, Bennett Conley, Cash Conley and Hunter Conley. Surviving siblings include Mary Johnson and Loralee Baxter. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Burdett and Jennie as well as his brother, Alan and sister, Harriett Whitmer.
Military honors will be rendered at his memorial service which will include a 21-gun salute and burial flag presentation to be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 1:00pm at Allnutt Funeral Home — Macy Chapel, 6521 W 20th St, Greeley, Colorado. 80634.
