Dear Jack, Jennifer, Ron and Taylor, I was so very saddened to learn of Bob's passing.  I am grateful that I was able to have  a good phone visit with my cousin last Fall '09.  During our visit Bob was so pleased that he had to get a new wardrobe because he had "grown 3 inches in height" and I was very happy for him.  We will all miss his gentle spirit. Bob taught me a lot in a very short amount of time. I was fortunate enough to work with him on an AIGA Colorado project a few years ago. He was an inspiration, and a mentor to me. His professionalism and attention to detail were unmatched. The Colorado design community was lucky to have him in our midst. I consider myself one of the fortunate ones. -- Dawn Putney

To Bob's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know I'm not alone in my admiration for Bob. He was so good to me, I learned so much from him. He gave me my first job in design, I was still a student at DU and I filled in part-time as the receptionist! Later, he hired me again, this time as an actual designer! He was so respected by his peers in the community, I owe Bob so much for the opportunities he gave me at such a young age. I've thought about him so much in the week since I received word of his passing. His legacy surely includes a long list of thankful, successful, passionate designers.

My memories include the countless times I would run from the 2nd floor of the office on 7th Ave, down to the super scary basement to make, yet another photo-stat (ya, photo-stat), where he would want the art 2% smaller! I never knew detail until I worked for Bob. I think about Bob every time I teach a class and demand that the students turn in clean boards. I spent hours attempting to perfectly cut the flap paper at 45º angles on the back of the board.

My deepest sympathies to the friends and family of this gifted, generous and humble man. I had the great fortune to work under Bob at one of my first jobs as a designer. To this day, I recall his relentless quest for excellence, not just in design, but within the design process itself, that he quietly pressed upon every project, large or small. All of his work had the Taylor Touch: elegantly conceived and superbly executed. He inspired, was a willing mentor, never sought the limelight and was held in high regard by co-workers and clients. Yes, he will be greatly missed.

I met Bob when we both enrolled at the Colorado Institute of Art in 1962.  I shared an apartment with him while we were in school and then officed in two different buildings with him when he returned to Denver after working for Saul Bass in California.  We all know about his stellar achievements in graphic design, but what I remember as well are his exemplary personal qualities.  Though he had every reason to boast about his achievements, he never did.  He didn't seek the spotlight.  And, I never saw Bob angry at anyone or anything.  Fate dealt him some difficult obstacles in the form of physical impairments, but he never let those get in his way.  He played a decent game of basketball!  I am not a religious man, but I do believe in God.  And if God created a heaven in the great beyond, I am sure that Bob occupies a special place there.

I served with Bob on various committees through Art Directors and admired his skill as a designer, organizer and administrator. The longer I knew Bob, the more I appreciated his graciousness, humility and courage. He will be greatly missed.

Bob was an amazing designer, boss, and all-around great guy. He taught me so much about design and the business of design, and was a huge influence on my work and work ethic. I feel so blessed to have known and worked with Bob. Although I knew him professionally, he always felt like family, a favorite uncle of sorts. He will be remembered fondly and profoundly missed.

Condolences to Bob's family. He was a warm, kind and good man. He made many lasting contributions to the Denver design community, and he has left an well-deserved and enduring legacy. You are in my thoughts during this difficult time.

I have known and respected Bob for over 25 years as warm apersonal friend and gifted and ethical designer. We collaborated together on a number of creative design projects and enjoyed each other's company. And I had great admiration for his valiant physical struggle during his last few years.
I shall not forget this good friend of mine.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing.
We had the pleasure of knowing Bob for almost 50 years.
We went to school together at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver.

Bob was an outstanding designer as a student and as a professional. Bob and his firm created some of the best graphic design/corporate communications work being done in Colorado over the past 35-40 years. He received numerous awards and had his work published in many books and magazines. He was always very humble, kind and down to earth.

I am sincerely broken hearted. It's true, "a man is only as good as his friends and competitors." Because Bob was my friend and a business competitor he made me a better man and better designer. Thank you, God Bless you.

Bob was truly an insperation to all of us in Denver's creative advertising and design community. For such a humble man, he had grace and style in his work, this is what made him such a timeless designer. Bob you will be surly missed.
