Ross Torrez, 69, of Evans, CO, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO. He was born June 20, 1952 in Greeley and was raised by Paul and Kathleen (Vasquez) Torrez.
Ross grew up in Greeley, where he attended school.
On August 17, 1974, he married Rose Morado at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley.
Ross worked as a Coal Miner for ten years, mining coking coal in Carbondale, CO. After incurring an injury in the coalmine, he became a stay at home dad and then worked with the kitchen staff at Windsor Charter Academy since 2018.
Ross loved being a stay at home dad and feeding all of his daughters’ friends. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs. He also loved gardening and his flowers. He had a green thumb and could make anything grow. Ross loved his dogs and always had one throughout his life. He was a great cook and enjoyed making special dishes for his family. He adored and lived for his grandkids.
Ross was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was also a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Ross is survived by his wife, Rose Torrez; daughters, Randa (Roy) Gulliford and Gina (Chris) Bindel; three grandchildren, Aiden Bindel, Ben Bindel and Trinity Gulliford and many siblings, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jake, Carlos and Joseph Torrez.
An Open House Celebration of Life will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 at Stoddard Funeral Home. The family encourages guests to come in their Chicago Cubs attire, or in team colors, red and blue. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. both at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
