Born on September 17, 1980, in Pennsylvania to Larry and Donna Varner, Ryan moved to Colorado in the fifth grade, where he would grow into the man so many came to admire. He graduated from Thompson Valley High School and continued his education at Blue Ridge Bible College, grounding himself in the faith and values that would guide him throughout his life. After spending time in Texas, Ryan returned to Colorado to build a life rooted in family, hard work, and unwavering love.
Ryan was a man of remarkable talent and endless curiosity. He had a gift for mechanics and a passion for creating, fixing, and improving anything he touched. His career in the oil and gas industry was marked not only by skill, but by integrity, grit, and the respect of his peers. Ryan found joy in life’s simple pleasures, racing, good food, working with his hands, but above all, he cherished time spent with his family.
He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loyal friend, and a steady presence in the lives of those he loved. Whether tossing a football with his sons, unplanned family adventures, or simply enjoying time at home, Ryan’s heart was always with his family. He was strong and dependable, yet full of warmth, laughter, and a deep tenderness that made him unforgettable.
Ryan is survived by his wife Chanel, sons, Eli, Gage, and Blake Varner; and his daughters, Savannah Holloway, Lilly (Quinten) Moen, Hope Varner, and Ariyah Varner. He is also survived by his mother Donna Dye, his sister Charity Varner, his nephew Peyton, and grandfather Richard Varner.
He is lovingly remembered by his extended family and countless friends whose lives were made better by knowing him. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Larry Varner; his paternal grandmother Virgina Varner and his maternal grandparents, Byron and Jane Dye.
Ryan’s life was a beautiful testament to love, loyalty, and the quiet strength of a man who gave his all to the people he cared about. His memory will live on in every laugh shared, every lesson passed down, and every moment spent together in his honor.
A memorial service for Ryan will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634, followed by a reception from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
