Silia Leticia Rangel-Barnhart “Letty”, 46, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away June 6, 2019. She was the daughter of Victor L. Rangel and Julia Saldivar-Rangel. Born October 18, 1972, she was the oldest of five children.
Letty graduated in 1990 from Orange Peel High School. During high school, she volunteered to help care for children with disabilities. This is where she began her passion for caring for others. After high school, she expanded this passion into a career. Through-out her life she took care of children, children/adults with disabilities, and the elderly.
She met her husband, Felix Barnhart, in 1991. Although they did not have children together, they did share a fur baby, a Bully named “Nala”. She was one of Letty’s proud possessions.
Letty enjoyed watching her favorite football team, the Denver Broncos. She was very adventurous and loved to travel. She also enjoyed listening to Tejano Music, picking wildflowers, baking, and was very crafty. Her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Felix Barnhart; her parents Julia Saldivar-Rangel and Victor Lara Rangel, Sr.; one sister Beatriz (Vanessa) Rangel; three brothers Victor (Gizelle) Rangel, Jr., Frank Rangel, and Nick Rangel; father-in-law, Eloy Salinas Barnhart and 11 nieces and nephews. Three of her nieces were very special and like daughters to her, Jazmin, Nivette and Chelly. She is also survived by a very close friend, Lydia Rodriguez.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Maximina and Isaias Rangel, Felix Saldivar, Sr. and Maria A. Lerma, mother-in-law Sara Martinez, brother-in-law Eloy Barnhart, Jr., five uncles Jesus and Nickolas Saldivar and Pete, Frank and Isaias Rangel, one aunt Hilda Rangel Araiza and her very special cousins Rosa Isela, Suzanna, Uvaldo and Orlando.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave., Greeley.
