It is with sadness that we read of Vic's passing back in October 2017. He is remembered fondly by those of us from Linwood High School in Christchurch, New Zealand, where his family spent a year in 1976. Vic was part of our school rugby team, and we shared a number of great times together. Despite being scattered around New Zealand and the world, our team from 1976 have remained good friends and often reminisce about Vic. The last time we connected with Vic was probably in the early 1980's. We have been trying to find him as we are organising a reunion of our team as next year is 50 years since we fundraised and travelled on a 2 week trip playing 4 games of rugby union in Australia. Unfortunately finding his obituary is a very sad moment for all of us. I'm sure Vic would have enjoyed hunting and fishing in the South Island with some of us and sitting around the camp fire having a beer and telling stories. Farewell our friend

Lit a candle in memory of Victor Arthur Geller

I was so sorry to hear of Vic's passing.  My memories of Vic are from when I was a kid, and he was older than me.  He was always funny.  He and my other cousins always seemed to ""up to something"" on the Geller Farm.  He is a special part of my memories of the Geller family gatherings.  My heart goes out to Uncle Bob and the Geller family.

I remember when I first met Vic, he was very reserved. It took time to gain his trust, when his trust was gained Vic was the most caring, loyal, kind hearted man you would ever know. He always had jokes to keep us going throughout the day! 
The hunting channel would always be on, he loved to hunt and be around his friends, when he smiled it was significant and lit up the room.
Vic was dedicated to his mother and father. after his mother passed he dedicated his time to helping his father almost everyday night or day. Vic was an amazing man and will be sorely missed.

I was very surprised and saddened when my brother Scott informed me that Vic had unexpectedly died.  We grew up across the street from the Gellers, on Newsom St.  Vic was in the same grade as my brother Scott, and I was just a year behind them.  We shared fun neighborhood memories...playing Kick the Can outside in each others yards, tee peeing a few houses, and just hanging out together.  Once, as teenagers,  we took a trip with Vic and his Father to a farm where we did some bird hunting, but mainly blasted the heck out of an old rusted car with our shotguns.  Vic had a western spirit, a bit of cowboy in him.  It may have been to make sure that we knew that despite being ""a preacher's kid"" that he had a bit of ornery in him.
I also have a memory of Vic winning a challenge that we made against each other at a local Pizza Hut.  It was who could drink the spiciest, hottest concoction.  Vic downed the brew-consisting of coke mixed with hot red peppers, regular pepper, and tobasco sauce without flinching a bit.  I'll never forget that!
Despite being stocky and muscular, Vic had a kindness to him.  I don't ever remember any meanness coming from him.
So farewell neighbor,  fellow Lambkin, and friend.  We'll see you on the other side.

It is with great sadness that I came to learn of Vic's passing. As with many things beautiful and good in life, he left us far too early. My warmest sympathies to his family, especially his dear father. 

Vic was a kind soul, always quick with a joke or funny comment, imposing levity into an otherwise serious conversation. That seemed to be his preferred role when hanging out with his friends, which he did nearly every day. 

He loved to be outdoors--hunting, fishing, or just driving through the mountains. Every other week we'd take a trip to Vern's just to have breakfast a bit closer to the big hills. When I bought my new pickup a couple months ago, the first thing Vic did was guide us through Rist and Poudre Canyon to share the places that long served as his backyard in Fort Collins.

I am reminded of Thoreau:

""I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.""

Hey, Vic, I hear the fish are biting in heaven. Catch one for me.
