

She was born on September 23, 1934, in Longmont, Colorado, to Enrique Rodarte and Margarita Sandoval.
Viola was raised in Mora, New Mexico. On May 23, 1952, she married Tiburcio Martinez, and together they shared 51 years of marriage until his passing.
In 1965, Viola and her family moved to Colorado, where she would build a lasting home and legacy in Greeley.
Viola was a devoted mother of 12 children and the proud matriarch of a large, close-knit family. She worked for many years at Kodak and eventually retired from the company. She was a talented seamstress with a deep love for cooking, planting flowers, and trying her luck at the casino. A woman of strong faith, she was a devout Roman Catholic who lived her life with heart and devotion.
She had 36 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren. Viola was like a second mother to many of her grandchildren, offering guidance, love, and a strong sense of family that will live on through generations.
Viola is survived by her loving children: Margie Ventura, Teresa Sanchez, Angela Sanchez, Joe Martinez, Frank Martinez, Fred Martinez, Barney Martinez, Mike Martinez and 1 brother, Levi Sandoval.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tiburcio Martinez; her children Carla Martinez, Pete Martinez, Pauline Martinez, and John-Jerry Martinez; and her brothers Wilfred Rodarte and Jose Rodarte.
Viola will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the joy she brought to those around her.
A visitation for Viola will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Allnutt Funeral Service - Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A rosary and liturgy of the word will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 6:00 P.M., at Allnutt Funeral Service - Macy Chapel. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M., at Allnutt Funeral Service - Macy Chapel. An interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens will follow the celebration of life.
