Born on May 28, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, to Wayne and Margaret (Hastings) Lenihan, Waynette was raised alongside her brother and sister. She graduated from high school and began a long and dedicated career as an administrative assistant with the Denver Water Board, where she worked for 35 years.
On February 2, 1980, she married the love of her life, David Ross, at Loyola Catholic Church in Denver. Together, they raised their two children, Brian and Megan, in Lakewood, creating a warm and loving home.
After retirement, Waynette and David relocated to Ault, Colorado, where they enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest. Their shared love of road trips, camping, and fishing created many cherished memories. Waynette was known for her strength, resilience, and quiet determination, qualities that carried her through life and her battle with illness.
She is survived by her children, Brian Ross and Megan Ross, grandson, Brantley; as well as extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; her parents, Wayne and Margaret Lenihan; and her siblings, Mike and Judy.
The family will hold a private service to honor Waynette’s life.
