Derrick was born in Greencastle on December 13, 1981, the son of Allen and Deena (Everts) Wells.
Mr. Wells worked for several years with AHW John Deere in Crawfordsville as a Small Engines Repair Technician. He enjoyed fishing and watching his son play baseball.
Survivors include his parents; his wife, Stephanie Wells, Greencastle; his son, D. J. Wells, Greencastle; a brother, Matthew Wells; a sister, Jessica Hogan, (husband-Jeremy); and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Coatesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
