Jean R. Holley

Born January 24, 1926 in Wayne County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Milo and Grace (Cochran) Routh. She was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and secretarial school with a degree in medical dictation, Chicago. She married Donald L. Holley in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Jean had worked at the Putnam County Surgical Associates, having worked for over 40 years for Dr.s Wiseman, Shauwacker, and Glock. She had been a member of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. She was a member of the Progress History Club and Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher.

Survivors include her son, David B. Holley of Greenwood; daughter, Janey Nickerson and husband, John of Cloverdale; two sisters, Helen Foutz and Frances Mendenhall; a brother, Robert Routh; eight grandchildren, Kasey, Jake, Kurt, Gabe, Lauren, Colin, Barbara and Joshua; eight great grandchildren; Elaina, Bailey, Eli, Ben, Cash, Gabby, Trey, and Alara.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Eleanore and Ester.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 Monday, June 18 at Greencastle, Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wes Kendall officiating. Family visitation and refreshment immediately following.
