

She made her debut on February 18, 1949, in Greencastle. And acted until her death.
Early years were spent on a farm with her pigs, Porky, Pinky, and Snowball. And a horse, Prince. And a lamb Abbie.
She was the daughter of Oscar (Mac) E. McClaine and Barbara Wright Grimes.
Peggy was a graduate of Greencastle High School in 1967 (where she was voted least likely to get cheerleader), earned her BFA from Denison University (along with 90% of her Chi Omega sisters deactivated the chapter because of protests against racism), and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from DePauw University.
Professionally Ms. McClaine worked in the private sector, for non-profits and education. Her favorite role as Assistant Director of Programs for the Society of American Journalists.
She married Ross E. Tennis in 1973 who preceded her in death.
Peggy retired from Deloitte in 2012.
An active participant in the Putnam County Playhouse from 1964 until 2012, and served as director, stage manager, actor, sound, and as a board member.
She loved the theatre, music, art, and good food.
She is survived by her son Joseph T. Tennis and his partner Bradley Bergman, of Seattle and Vancouver BC, Canada respectively; her son Casey M. Tennis and his wife Erica Seigal and their children Coco J. Tennis and Sydney R. Tennis of Ponte Vedra, Florida.
