Robert D. Ashworth

Robert D. “Bob” Ashworth, 75, of Greencastle passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was born on November 21, 1936 in Putnam County, Indiana to Kenneth Ashworth and Lucille Cooper Ashworth and was a 1954 graduate of Greencastle High School. Bob was a member of the Greencastle Elks Lodge, Greencastle Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Legion, Temple Lodge #47 F&AM, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He was retired as manager of the Traffic Department at IBM after 25 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara J. Ashworth; children, Michael D. Ashworth and wife Yanira of Allen, TX, Leigh Ann Hinnefeld and husband Jon of Conyers, GA and Tama K. Alspaugh and husband, Brad of Greencastle; a sister, Peggy Quigley of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Stacey Hinnefeld, J.D. Hinnefeld, Lyndie Alspaugh, Cassie Alspaugh, and Kellan Alspaugh; and a great-granddaughter, Hallie Rice. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 2 P.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Barber officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
