Shirley Ann Ruark

Shirley Ann Ruark, 92, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born in Stilesville on February 23, 1926, the daughter of Cecil L. and Kathleen (Oursler) Nichols, and was a graduate of Fillmore High School.
Mrs. Ruark was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She worked for over 40 years as a Secretary at the Putnam County Extension Office. She was a volunteer with the 4-H Exhibit Association and handled all the fair’s financial records. Shirley was Grand Marshal in the 2005 4-H Fair Parade. She was declared a Friend of Farmers by Farm Bureau.
Survivors include her four children, Rodney Dale Ruark, (wife-Donna), Lancaster, Ohio; Diana “Kay” Seals, (husband-Carl), Shelbyville; Donald Ray Ruark (wife-Diana), Pittsboro; and Debra Ann Catron, (husband-Timothy), West Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen Doyle Ruark; and two sisters, Betty Josephine Nichols, and Mary Jane Nichols.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Stilesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service on Sunday.
