Born September 1, 1933 in Greencastle, son of Ovid W. and Velma (Braden) Muir. He was a graduate of Bridgeton High School “Class of 1951”.
William was a lifelong farmer in Parke County. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Susan (Stanger) Muir; two sons, Duane W. (Sarah) Muir and David W. Shuee; a sister, Barbara (John) Swaim; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Muir.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sabra Muir.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Friday until time of service at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the funeral home with interment to follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
