William Harold Reeves

William Harold Reeves, 84, of Greencastle went home to be with The Lord Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family.
William was born in Park County on March 9, 1936, the son of Harry J. and Reba F. (Ewing) Reeves, and was a graduate of Van Buren High School. He attended Purdue University.
Mr. Reeves was a member of Lena United Methodist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army for over 20 years. William was a First Sargent and spent two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea. He worked for 17 years as a Personnel Officer with Indiana State Corrections.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bessie Reeves, Greencastle; five children, William Reeves, (wife-Leaanne), Brazil, Barbara Cain, (husband-Daniel), Big Bend, West Virginia, Michael Reeves, (wife-Ronda), Coatesville, Jim Reeves, (wife-Patty), Clay City, and Karen Schrader, (husband-Jonathan), Brazil; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother Jack Reeves, (wife-Jane), Parke County; and a sister Karolyn Trusty, Stilesville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; and a sister Erma Hill.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Schrader officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
