

Allen Hardy Jones, age 84, of Greensboro, NC, left his earthly body for his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones. Allen was born March 16, 1941, in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Jones Sr. and Marie Brinkley Jones.
Allen enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and was stationed at the Ohlson Mountain Air Force Radar Station in Homer Alaska. During his move back home after his military service, Allen meet his future wife Sandra Marks and was married for 60 years.
Allen attended and graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. He served as the President of the Business Fraternity at Old Dominion during his college education. Allen went on to pursue his career with the United States Treasury Department’s Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives as an Inspector. His career with the ATF had him in Miami Florida, Washington DC, New York City, and eventually to Greensboro, NC in 1979 serving as the Greensboro Regulatory Field Division Supervisor over the ATF Inspectors office until his retirement from the Federal Government in the fall of 1995.
Allen was a faithful member of Deep River Friends Meeting in High Point, NC. He enjoyed serving the community as a volunteer with Moses Cone Health Systems as well as the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office serving as the Training Coordinator of the Volunteer’s in Police Service.
In his later years, Allen enjoyed traveling with his wife Sandra as they enjoyed many adventures together. He especially enjoyed being the best grandpa he could be to his four grandson’s Cameron, Austin, Matthew, and Johnathon. All those times will be forever cherished.
Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jones Jr. of Marietta, GA. Surviving are his loving wife Sandra Marks Jones of Greensboro, NC; son, Bradley Jones of Reidsville, NC; grandsons, Cameron and Austin Jones of Greensboro, NC; Daughter Julie Beane and husband Michael Beane; grandsons Matthew and Johnathon Beane, all of Greensboro, NC; Sister-in-Law, Lillian Jones; niece Jennifer Tillery, both of Marietta, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Deep River Friends Meeting Cemetery in High Point, NC with military rites conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
