Andre “Andy” Manning Ray, age 42, passed away at his home, June 12, 2018. He had been in declining health for several months. Andy was a member of Woodlake Baptist Church. He loved fishing and spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly and always looked forward to family vacations at the beach.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Vogler officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 pm until service time.
Andy was born in Guilford County to James M. and Gloria C. Ray. He was self-employed, owner and operator of Andy Ray Siding and Replacement Windows.
Andy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Manning D. and Flossie K. Compton and his paternal grandparents, John E. and Ruth E. Ray.
Survivors in addition to his parents are his sons, Andre T. Ray and Brandon J. Ray; Andy’s fianc’ee, Leighah E. Jackson; sister, Cynthia R. Springs (Frank); brother, Dwight M. Ray (Ruth); nieces, Jessica S. Madison (Will), Toby J. Ray; nephew, Joshua A. Springs; great niece, Riley G. Madison and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins. Andy loved being a dad and spending time with his two boys and Leighah.

Serving as Andy's pallbearers will be James M. Compton, Jr., Wallace Compton, Jr., Frank Springs, Joshua Springs, Phillip Jackson and Will Madison.
