Born in Greensboro, June 22, 1938, to the late Cicero and Evelyn Loye, Banks was of the Christian faith. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Banks adored his family and provided for them as only he could. He loved life and all people, always putting the needs of others, before his own. He was always willing to help anyone, who was willing to help themselves. Banks never turned his back on a friend or even a stranger that was in need. He enjoyed the simple things in life, such as fishing, watching the Andy Griffith show with his grandsons, and not just food itself, but the pleasure of eating food. Banks enjoyed gardening, whether it be plants, vegetables, or flowers. He was also an avid collector and what kept the collecting interesting was the fact that the treasures he collected changed from week to week. Banks was a one of a kind who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one of his sons, Ronnie Loye; two brothers and four sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life of 42 years, Diane Loye, of the home; their children, Scott Loye, Wendy Blackwell and her husband Tim all of Greensboro; also, his children Gary Loye and Cindi Dezearn, both of Greensboro; sister, Connie Frankhauser of Missouri; brothers, Charles Loye of Greensboro and Gene Loye and his wife Carol of Belews Creek; 12 grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Jordan Blackwell, Dustin, Chase, and Spencer Loye; other grandchildren include, Justin, Scotty, Chris, Becky, Mandy, and Katie; seven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the funeral home.
