Greensboro-Mrs. Barbara Rule Hill, 82, was reunited with her husband and her Savior on March 12, 2014. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be at 7 PM, Sunday, March 16, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Reverend Tom Banon officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 PM prior to the service.
Barbara was born in Jamestown to the late Henry and Polly Yarborough Rule. She enjoyed the simple things in life: reading, cooking and feeding the birds. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1949 and was employed by Western Auto Division Office in Greensboro, Bimeco in Largo, FL and retired from Pete Wall Plumbing as office manager in 2007 due to illness. She attended Bales Wesleyan Church before her illnesses. Barbara loved hugs, saying they were free, exchangeable and one size fits all. So hug someone today.
The family thanks her doctors and staff for their care and compassion during her illness, Drs. Elkin, Ennever, Hickling, Stuckey and Taylor.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Tara Osborne (Mark); great grandchildren, Stefan Smith, Victoria and Kyle Osborne; brothers, Bill Rule (Frances) and Joel Rule (Shirley); many nieces and nephews; in-laws; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty eight years, Garland “Doc” Hill and daughter, Teresa McClarren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to House of Prayer, 5884 Riverdale Drive, Jamestown, NC 27282 or Bales Wesleyan Church, 1000 Bales Chapel Road, Jamestown, NC 27282. On line condolences may be made at www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com.
