Beatrice S. Simmons Stamey

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Rev. Carol Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Bolton, NC, to the late Allen and Dollye Simmons, Mrs. Stamey was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Moses Cone Hospital, as a Registered Nurse, after 13 years of employment. Beatrice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved nature, enjoyed traveling, but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roy E. Stamey.

Those left to cherish her memory included her children, Vicki Stamey of Pleasant Garden, Roy “Butch” Stamey and his wife Melissa of Ohio, Elizabeth Anne Summers of Browns Summit, and Karen Saferight and her husband Ricky of Liberty; grandchildren, Kenneth Allen Sloan, Bobby Lee Saferight, Jerry Everette Saferight and his wife Crystal and Heather Nicole Sloan; great -grandchildren, Chad, Michelle, McKenzie, Cierra, and Brooklyn.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Monday evening, March 19, 2012 at the funeral home and from 1 until 2 pm Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral.
