With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ben Wilson Sherrill, Sr., 85, of High Point, North Carolina on Thursday, February 20, 2025, after years of declining health. Born in Alexander County on October 31, 1939, Ben was the son of Everett and Hattie Gant Sherrill.
Ben graduated from Taylorsville High School and proudly served in the US Navy. His career was in the commercial printing industry. Ben was a long-time member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church where he enjoyed serving as an usher and greeter for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol St. Clair Sherrill; children Tara Sherrill Daniel (Mike) and Ben Sherrill, Jr. (Carol); grandchildren Andrew Daniel (Susannah), Jessica Daniel Henderson (Weston), Trent Sherrill and Connor Sherrill; and his sister Sally Sherrill Poole. He was preceded in death by brother, J. Daniel Sherrill, and sister, Doris Sherrill Matheson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ben’s memory to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262
