

Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday September 22, 2012 at the Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
A native of Greensboro, Mr. Younts started his working career with Cone Mills as a Turbine operator and worked there for several years before going to work at TVA in Tennessee. He then changed careers and started working for Talley Electric as an electrician and joining the IBEW. He worked in over 30 states during his career and loved to travel. He was married to Jessie Coe and later married Hallie Davis who passed away in 1980. In 1984 Mr. Younts married Frances Wensek and retired in Toms River, New Jersey where they lived for several years before moving back to North Carolina. Both enjoyed traveling throughout the US and vacationed in Hawaii, England, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, Japan, China and New Foundland, Nova Scotia during their retirement years. He attended Word of Life Four Square Church and was a member of the The International Brotherhood of Electrical Wokers for 45 years. Mr. Younts retired from electrical work in 1984 while working on skyscrapers in NYC with his son. He had quite a history on working on various jobs and would love to tell stories about his experiences.
He loved to make small furniture during his retirement years having made several doll bunk beds, small rocker chairs, magazine holders and several adult size rocker chairs, all of which he would give away to family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances W. Younts, brothers Herman Younts and Ronia Younts, sisters Lucy Dickens and Nellie Conklin.
Mr. Younts is survived by his son Allan B. Younts and his wife Kathryn, stepdaughter Jennifer Holt and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Street Chapel 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday.
