Bertram M. Watson, 84, passed away on Sunday, March 4th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 14, 1933 in Guilford County, the son of Bertram M. and Lucille Spencer Watson. He served his country in the US Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his military service, he worked with the US Postal Service. When he retired from the Post Office, he and Carolyn traveled the country in their RV, which was his passion. He was very creative and loved photography, woodworking, and oil-painting.
Bertram is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn J. Walker Watson of the home; daughters, Pamela Watson of Terra Haute, IN, Jennie Watson Patnode of Southern Pines, NC, Kristy Watson Cline and husband Jeff of High Point, NC; brother, John Thomas Watson (Peggy) of Sophia; grandchildren, Brian Patnode (Jennifer), Megan Henry (David), Sarah Summerford (Ryan), Brandon Cline, Katie Cline, Candice Hamilton, Matthew Hamilton, Michael Hamilton (Samantha); great grandchildren, Clara Jane Patnode and Hollis Henry.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, 1:00 pm at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
A special thank you to all his caregivers over the years, especially Mary Nobles, and to all the sweet nurses from Hospice of the Piedmont that cared for him.
