

Bette Frances Wade, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Beacon Place. Bette was born on September 19, 1926 in Guilford County, the daughter of Shelby and Ollie Mae Faulkner Long. She graduated from Jamestown High School where she was the Captain of the girls’ basketball team. She was a member of Burnett’s Chapel United Methodist Church for several years and was involved in many church activities. She loved her hats and was a gifted decorator.
Bette and her husband were accomplished ball room dancers and were awarded many trophies for their talents. She was a living wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all.
Bette is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Joseph Herman Wade of the home; daughters, Dixie L. Kuczewski of Greensboro, NC, NC State Senator Trudy Wade of Greensboro, NC, Lisa J. Brattich of Emerald Isle, NC; grandchildren, Stanley A. Kuczewski and wife Tammye and Joseph S. Kuczewski, all of Maryland, Sergio Brattich of Italy; great grandchildren, Kimberly Hope Kuczewski and Krystian Kuczewski.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13th, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with entombment to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
