Billy Wade Brown

Billy was married to Carolyn Coleman Brown who preceded him in death on October 11, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Brown Cilley.

He was a graduate of Rankin High School in Greensboro and was the owner and operator of Brown Oil Company. After selling the company, he worked with the Guilford County Animal Control until he retired. Billy was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown and the Adult Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was an active member of the Kernersville YMCA and was a 12 year season ticket holder with the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

He is survived by his son, Scott Brown and wife Vicki of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Justin Brown, Laura Brown; brother, Johnny Brown of Greensboro and sisters, Judy and Connie Brown of Greensboro.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Moses. H. Cone for the care that was given and shown to Billy during his stay.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Dan Lyons. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
