Mr. Bobby William Tilley

Bobby “Bob” William Tilley, 88, a resident of Greensboro, NC passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born July 13, 1937, in Alexandria, Virginia, the son of Boss Cornelius and Myrtle Joyce Tilley.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A member of South Elm Street Baptist Church for more than six decades, he served as a deacon, usher, bus ministry driver and more.

Bob was committed to a strong work ethic. After graduating from Colfax High School, he joined the US Army. He would go on to work at the Sears Mail Order plant for 37 years. He later worked for the Greensboro Auto Auction as a driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Joe Tilley.

Bob is survived by his wife, Doris Jones Tilley; two sons, Michael Tilley and his wife Ellie of Holly Springs, GA, Kevin Tilley of Greensboro; two granddaughters, Savannah Munoz and husband Josh of Krum, TX, Sierra Laskowski and husband Zach of Columbia, SC and two great grandchildren, Hayden and Myles Laskowski.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at South Elm Street Baptist Church (4212 S. Elm-Eugene St. Greensboro, NC 27406) conducted by the Reverend Dr. Lawrence Clapp. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
