

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2201 West Market Street in Greensboro, at 4:00 p.m.
Bruce was born September 19, 1941, in Montclair, New Jersey, to the late Arthur John and Ethel Marie Brunner. He was drafted by the Army and served in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, Bruce then worked most of his life in the mortgage industry. He and is family relocated from New Jersey to North Carolina in 1992. Once he retired, he worked part-time at the Greensboro Country Club on the golf course, where he always truly wanted to be. More than anything, Bruce was most devoted to spending time with his family, and was a very proud dad to Lauren and Linsey.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Graham, and his brother, Arthur Brunner, Jr. He is survived by Dee Brunner of Greensboro; daughters Lauren Brunner and her fiancé Amir Azarbal of Portland, OR, Linsey Brunner of Somserset, NJ; and his sisters, Marilyn McGrath and her husband Jack of Surfside Beach, SC, Nancy Filipow and her husband John of New Bern, NC and Kathy Brooks and her husband Edwin of New Port Richey, FL.
Bruce’s family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Gary Sherrill, Dr. John Jenkins, and Dr. Gerard Blobe for the wonderful care and compassion given to Bruce while in their care. They would also like to especially thank the “angels” who comprise the staff at Hospice of Greensboro and Palliative Care.
