Carolyn Jane Draper, 81, a resident of Jamestown passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022. She was born January 12, 1941 in Covington, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Edward Creecy and Vina A. (Garling) Creecy.
Carolyn is survived by two sons, David Draper and wife Rhonda of Greensboro, Michael Draper and wife Carol of Burke, VA; one sister, Beriece Castle and husband Richard Castle of Enid, OK; seven grandchildren, Thomas and wife Patricia, Daniel and wife Lisa, Paul and wife Nicole, David, Shaina and husband David, Ricki, and Zack; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death earlier this year by her husband of 61 years, Raydean Alicen Draper. She and Raydean and their sons traveled overseas and across the United States as an Air Force family during Raydean’s 24-year military career. Following Raydean’s retirement from active duty in 1984 they made their home in Clovis, New Mexico where Carolyn worked as an accountant at the business headquarters of Allsup's Convenience Stores, Inc. They moved to Sunset, Utah in 1994 where Carolyn continued seasonal accounting work for and eventually retiring from the Internal Revenue Service. Carolyn and Raydean enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Together they were active in their church and devoted many summers to youth church camps and missions. After moving to Jamestown in 2009 Carolyn and Raydean became members of Adams Farm Community Church. Carolyn was an accomplished seamstress, and she made most of her sons’ clothing when they were children. She was also an award-winning quilter, and many of her finest creations were gifts to family members and friends who will continue to cherish them for years to come.
A service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Adams Farm Community Church conducted by Pastor Brian Howard.
There will be a private family service held when Carolyn and Raydean’s ashes will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
