Catherine "Cathy" R. Forrest, 58, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016. She was born on May 18, 1957 in Macon County, NC, the daughter of William and Dulcie Reynolds Roland. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.
Catherine loved to be outside. Whether it is working in her yard, traveling, going to yard sales or just sitting on her porch listening to country music, or taking time to spend time with her pets. She also liked her buddie, “Monkey Boy”. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them. She always placed them first.
Catherine is survived by her children; Melanie Woodard, Jane Forrest, Jessica Forrest (Tyree Hairston), Vernon Forrest; Soul mate, David L. Ames; siblings, Jackie R. Dillard, Betty Jean Capps, William G. Roland; grandchildren, Mikey Forrest, Celena Forrest, Makayla Forrest-Davis, Donovan Hairston, and Jayce Hairston.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
