Charles Warner Thompson

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm at College Park Baptist church with Rev. Michael Usey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Guilford Memorial Park. Family visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00pm 8:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.

He was born in Greensboro to the late Rommie and Kilton Holt Thompson. He was a US Navy Veteran. He worked as a Conductor with Norfolk Southern Railroad and retired with thirty-two years of service. He was a member of College Park Baptist Church for many years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty three years, Darcie Chambers Thompson; brother-in-law Gene Chambers; sister-in-law Penny Chambers, both of Greensboro; and sister-in-law Gerry Gorichanaz of Milwaukee, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Lloyd and Barbara Tallant, and Randy and Gigi Melton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Park Baptist Church Access for All Campaign, 1601 Walker Avenue Greensboro, North Carolina 27403. Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel is assisting the Thompson family.
