He owned and operated Chester’s Automotive Repair and Electronics Services in Elon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
On August 27, 1976 he was married to Ernestine “Tina” Jacobs Allred who survives of the home. He is also survived by three daughters, Donna Lynn Helms of Burlington, Kelly Jean Yeatts of Asheboro, Kimberley Allred Ricketts of Julian; his father and mother, Garland “Bill” and Thelma McGehee Fain of Burlington; six grandchildren, Breanna Holden, Paris Yeatts, Rachel Ricketts, Phillip Ricketts, III, Chaz Helms, Kira Ricketts and one great granddaughter, Lily Holden.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Jeff Porter. Interment will Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
