

She was the second oldest member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she joined in 1943 and met the love of her life, husband Leonard and they married in 1946. She was a faithful member and loved to sing in the choir. She had read her Bible thru over 22 times. Her Lord, husband and family were the joy and center of her life.
She worked at Vick’s Chemical and retired from Sears Mail Order with over 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters; two brothers and many in-laws.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Carol Waters (Jim) of Wilmington, Barbara Covington of Greensboro; grandchildren, Reverend Michael Leonard Waters (Angie) of Concord, Crystal Clewis of Asheboro, Laura Collins (Lee) of Reidsville, Christopher Covington (Megan) of Virginia Beach, VA; great grandchildren, Luke, Abi and Hannah Waters, Caroline Covington, Katlyn and Lily Clewis, Destanie and Dylan Collins, Colby and Mason Covington; sister, Rosa Reynolds; sister-in-laws, Nancy Oliver, Ruby Roberts; many nieces and nephews and her special friend Margaret Royal.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by grandson, the Reverend Michael Waters and Reverend Jim Cates. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Clapps Assisted Living in Pleasant Garden for all the love and care they gave to Christine. She loved them all.
Although we will miss her so very much, we can rejoice knowing that she is now seeing her Lord and “Sweetheart”.
