Daniel Bartko

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 am at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Cecil Donahue officiating. Interment will follow in the Center United Methodist Church cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.

Mr. Bartko was born in Robbinsville, NJ to the late John and Emily Staviski Bartko. He was a graduate of Hamline University in ST. Paul, MN and received his Master’s degree in Math from University of Illinois. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army, stationed in Germany from January 1945 to July 1945.

He taught at Sheldon High School in Illinois; Sumner School in Greensboro and at Guilford Technical community College (GTCC) Technical Math in the Aviation Program.

He was an avid gardener and active musician.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edith M. Bartko; brother, George Bartko; and sister, Pauline Bartko. Mr. Bartko is survived by his son, Stephen Reiley and wife Jacqueline; granddaughter Ashley Reiley all of Greensboro; brother, Joseph Bartko of Traverse City, MI.

The family requests contributions be made to Center United Methodist Church, 6142 Lake Brandt Road, Greensboro, NC 27455 in memory of Daniel Bartko.
