David Earl Locklear Jr., 63, passed away on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at High Point Regional Hospital. Services to celebrate David’s life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 7:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
David was born on Jan. 17, 1947, the son of David E. and Carrie Mae Strickland Locklear Sr. He worked as a mechanic. David was an avid Harley rider and enjoyed playing the guitar. He had a deep love for animals and was always taking in those abandoned and mistreated. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all.
David is survived by his loving wife, Samantha Robinson Locklear; step-son, Eric Allen Whisnant, sister, Barbara Locklear Cousins, mother-in-law, Betty Powers and numerous nieces and nephews.
