Dorothy (Dot) Russell Watts, 98, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at her home. She died peacefully surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Guilford Memorial Park on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM with family receiving friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Dorothy was born on February 9, 1927, in Greensboro, NC to Charles W. Russell, Sr. and Myrtle Lola Russell. Dorothy was a member of Parkway Baptist Church which is now Kings Cross Church, for 53 years. She was very active in her church and continued to enjoy her women’s study group until they were unable to meet in person. Dot always enjoyed her family and lit up around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Watts, Jr. and her daughter, Sandra Leigh Turner. Surviving are; her daughter Linda Yurko (Gary) of Florida, grandchildren, Donna Piercey of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Eric Turner of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Lyndsay Champion (Carl) of Greensboro, Kristin Bigford (Justin) of Colorado, and great-grandchildren, CJ and Olivia Champion of Greensboro.
