Mrs. Elaine Spencer Walsh, 88, a former resident of Greensboro died Wednesday September 7, 2011 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge. Mrs. Walsh was born June 15, 1923 in Greensboro a daughter of Oscar Theodore and Jewel Coble Spencer. She worked at UNC-G for the Dean of Education until her retirement and volunteered with the Shepherd’s Center in Greensboro. Mrs. Walsh was a member of Guilford Park Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar Walsh and her son, David Michael Walsh.
Surviving is two daughters, Linda Walsh Reece and husband Dave of High Point and Dianne Walsh Etzler and husband Steve of Glen Allen, VA; three grandchildren, Melanie Monroe McDonald and husband Reverend Joseph McDonald, Carolyn Glass Bryan, Kendrah Dyani Davis and a great grandson, John Alexander Bryan.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Guilford Park Presbyterian Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. William Waterstradt. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
