Elizabeth was born November 26, 1917 in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Alexander and Mary Pete. She lived for many years in Niles until moving to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1998.
After moving to Greensboro, Elizabeth became of member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where she was involved in bible study, book club, food drives, consignment sales and helping with mailings. She was an avid walker and enjoyed reading and gardening.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, William Eaton; a sister, Margaret Nee, and a brother, Alex Pete.
Surviving are her children, Jane Smith (Frank) of Granger, IN Tom Eaton (Kathleen) of Greensboro, and Peggie Donowitz (Jerry) of Charlottesville, VA; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joseph Mack at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family requests with gratitude that memorials in Elizabeth’s name be made to the Cone Health Cancer Center at Wesley Long, 501 N. Elam Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403 or to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, 435 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401.
