Elizabeth Emma Nicke

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:15 pm, Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Saint Benedict Catholic Church, with Father James Duong officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, October 26, 1914, to the late Joseph and Margaret Herzhauser, Mrs. Nicke was a member of Saint Benedict Catholic Church. While living in New York, she was the owner and operator of Nicke’s Florist, in Queens. When she became a resident of Alonzo Hall Towers on N. Church St., in Greensboro, she organized and operated a non-profit store called Save-A-Step. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joseph C. Nicke.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Joseph J. Nicke and his wife Barbara M. of McLeansville; grandson, Joseph G. Nicke of Sherrills Ford, NC; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah May Nicke.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm St. Chapel.
