Erica Laine Rau

Erica was born on March 4, 1984 in Yardley, Pennsylvania to John Frederick and Joyce Dillman Rau.

Erica was preceded in death by her father, and her grandparents, Bert and Shirley Rau and Harold and Edna Dillman.

She is survived by her husband, Stacy Herbert Taylor: mother, Joyce Dillman Rau; brother Jonathon David Rau, his wife Charlotte, nephews Luke Griffith, John Rau, Michael Rau and Matthew Rau.

Erica graduated from high school in Wilmington, NC. She attended High Point University, then transferred and graduated from UNC-G with a BFA in Design in 2005. After graduation she worked for the UNC-G Library, digitizing their collections. She was instrumental in a wonderful event that produced the recipes from the vintage cookbooks that the library had acquired.

She married her longtime companion and best friend Stacy in 2018, and moved from High Point to Greensboro in 2023.

Erica inherited her love of cooking from her father. A family favorite was her Thanksgiving apple pie. She was a lover of animals, always willing to open her home to a stray kitty. In her honor we should all take a moment to appreciate the contribution our pets give to our lives.

Erica will be greatly missed by her husband and family.
