Miss Frances Piccolo, 98, of Greensboro, departed from this life on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Carriage House in Greensboro. A graveside service will be held at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY, later on in the week. Frances was born in Manhattan, NY on February 23, 1916 to the late Anthony and Catherine Piccolo. She was an accomplished Engineer and made great strides as a woman in that field of work. She stayed well informed on current events and was very much a political follower. Frances was very loving and generous lady who loved her family and attended every family event if at all possible. She enjoyed baking, reading, and shopping. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Doherty and her brother, Dominic Piccolo. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Mary Murtha of Greensboro; several nieces; a nephew; and numerous great nieces, nephews, and extended family. Hanes-Lineberry N.
