Frances Evelyn Caudle Wyrick, 97, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Sunday December 23, 2018 at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro. She was born October 14, 1921 in Randolph Co., the daughter of Joseph Vernon Caudle and Frances Moss Brawner.
After her parent’s death, Evelyn was raised in the Methodist Home for Children in High Point. Evelyn graduated from Jamestown High School and attended High Point College, now High Point University. She was retired from the City of Greensboro where she worked with the public library and drove the book mobile. She was a lifelong member of Hinshaw United Methodist Church.
Evelyn was married to Charles William Wyrick. They met at high school and were married for 62 years before Charles’ death in 2005. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers and three sisters.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Charlene Wyrick Smith and husband Thomas of Greensboro; her son, Gary William Wyrick and wife June of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren; Karen Orrell (Jack), Kelly Nix (Dale), Lauren Kennedy (Doug), Drew Wyrick, Matthew Wyrick, and great grandchildren, Thomas Orrell, William Nix, Henry Kennedy and Evelyn Kennedy.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 27th at Hinshaw United Methodist Church conducted by the Reverend Thomas Jolly. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
