

Mr. Grier Samuel Hunt of Greensboro passed away on December 24, 2011. He was one of eight children born to the late Isaac Newton Hunt, Jr. & Dora Alice Jones Hunt in Stokes County on August 15, 1931. Grier was a retired contractor and florist in Greensboro for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
Grier was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Violet, Juanita, Ralph, Ethelyn, Mary, Raleigh and Mallory.
He is survived by his wife Freeda Hildreth Hunt of the home, five children, John B. Hunt and wife Linda of Franklinville, Kennie Hunt and wife Linda of Climax, Linda Hunt Latham and husband Keith of Mocksville, Allen Hunt and wife Beverly of Greensboro, Kevin Hunt and wife Patsy of North Augusta, SC; four step children, Susan Newman and husband Rick of Randleman, Glora Souder and husband Greg of MN, Dewayne Hildreth of Randleman, Eunice Mendoza and husband Jose of Greensboro and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28th at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Wesleyan Church, 2400 S. Holden Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by Pastor Steve Roberts. Graveside committal services will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pinnacle conducted by Pastor Gabe Galdo. The family will receive friends at Christ Wesleyan Church one hour prior to the service.
