

Herbert Leon Boyles, 83, of Jamestown died Friday November 23, 2012 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. Mr. Boyles was born December 24, 1928 in Randolph Co., the son of Roba L. and Myrtle Coltrane Boyles. He graduated from Allen Jay High School. For 30 years Herbert owned and operated Boyles Hardware in the Sedgefield Community. He was a member of Dillon Road Baptist Church (formally Sedgefield Baptist Church). He loved to garden, fish and drive his red Chevrolet pick-up truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roba L. Boyles, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Allen Boyles of the home; one daughter, Susie Boyles Swinson of Jamestown; one son, Gary Allen Boyles and wife Deborah of Elon; two brothers, Charlie Boyles and wife Shirley of the Allen Jay community, Jerry Boyles and wife Dyanne of the Cedar Square community; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Dr. Andy Royals. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Boyles, Eric Boyles, Carter Boyles, Jerry Boyles, David Armstrong, James Payne, Tommy Shirley and Jason Bolen.
