Climax- Hilda Joan Robinson, 79, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, May 29 at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Robinson will lie in state at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel from 3 to 9 PM on Wednesday, May 28.
She was born on December 7, 1934 to the late Robert and Nellie Smith. Hilda retired from Lorillard Tobacco Co. after thirty years. She loved her Lord, family and flowers and was of the Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents and husband of fifty years, Eugene S. Robinson, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alberta Butner and brother, Robert E. Smith Jr. She is survived by her son, Timothy Eugene Robinson of Charlotte; daughter, Brenda Kay (Tim) Grubbs of Climax; brothers, Calvin (Frankie) Smith and Johnnie (Sue); sister, Rebecca Ryckman; and sister-in-law, Nita Smith all of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Brooke A. (Ian) Byrd and their son, Brentley and Phillip D. (Brittany) Grubbs of Asheboro.
