

He is survived by his wife, Anna Franklin Pace; son, Howard C. Pace, Jr. and wife, Debbie; daughter, Lynn Pace Beard; granddaughters, Erin Pace, Anna Beard and Megan Beard. Mr. Pace was born in Shelby County, Tennessee and is preceded in death by his parents, Donie Elnora Pace and Cosby Alonzo Pace; his brothers, Ralph and Carl Pace, and his sister, Margaret Peck.
Mr. Pace served in the Army Air Corp from 1941 to 1944 and was President of Champion Storage & Trucking Company. His passions were his family, granddaughters and the Tennessee Volunteers. He and his wife, Anna, married 67 years, were charter members of St. Paul Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and coached the men’s softball team.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4th at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, 2300 Old Chapman Street, Greensboro, NC 27403.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262-7374, or St. Paul Presbyterian Church.
The family expresses it appreciation for the excellent care given to our father and grandfather by Palliative Care of Wesley Long Hospital during his stay there.
