Irene Dollar Brown

Irene Dollar Brown, 94, passed away on Saturday November 7, 2015 at the Hospice Home of High Point. Irene was born November 9, 1920 in Jenkins Jones, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles Henry and Beulah Beatrice Minor Myers.

Irene was married to Henry Dollar who preceded her in death. She later married Bruce Brown who also preceded her in death.

Irene was active in the Woodmen of the World helping with flag donations and attending the summer camps each year. She was involved with the Culler Senor Center and loved to dance and travel. Irene was a member of the Sunshine Club at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from Bernhardt Furniture Co. where she was showroom manager.

Irene is survived by her children, Elsie Dollar Jones, Jackie Dollar and wife Jeanette, Ramona Miller and husband Jim; sister, Opal Adams; brother, Frank Myers and wife Ruth; grandchildren, Timothy Jones and companion Donna Rae Newsom, Ricky Jones and wife M.C., Danny Jones and companion Christy Harvey, April Bates and husband Mike, Mark Miller, Carter Miller; great grandchildren, Amber Jones Oldham, Meredith Jones, Emerson Jones and great-great grandchildren, Jack Bates, Samantha Oldham and Zoey Oldham.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery conducted by Reverend Raymond Gilley. There will be no visitation or viewing held.
