James (Jim) McBride Anderson, (lovingly known to those closest as Jimmy), 62 passed to the arms of Jesus December 22, 2024, after a brave & courageous battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Jim graduated from Greensboro Day School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NCA&T University. A gentle soul who devoted his life in service to others. He would always offer his knowledge and hand for anyone in need. Jim was employed with Volvo Truck earlier in his career until finding his true drive in Supply Chain Management at Collins Aerospace.
Sailing was a true passion, whether a simple trip to Lake Jordan or a fulfilled adventurous weekend to Oriental, NC, Jim was at peace on the water. Camping, hiking, anything in nature brought him joy. Swimming with friends filled summer weekends. He attended Sheraton Park Freewill Baptist Church until his health began to fail.
Even early in his illness, Jim was led to help those with similar diagnoses and bring joy to their lives. The love stamps he made on others are too monumental to count. He will be terribly missed on earth.
Jim was predeceased by his parents James Sensabaugh Anderson & Margerat McBride Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife/caregiver Gretchen Anderson of the home. Children, Nicholas Anderson (Demian) NM, Natalie Anderson CO, Jacob Anderson Raleigh, NC, Joshua Anderson Oak Ridge, NC, Christopher Baxter Winston Salem, NC and Benjamin Baxter of the home. Sisters Beth Lake (Lee) Raleigh, NC and the Reverend Jane Anderson Appleton, WI. One Grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday January 2, 2025 at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Kraig Spivey. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
