

Mr. James David Lyons, 67, a resident of Pleasant Garden died Friday, September 30, 2011. David was born July 7, 1944 in Panama City, FL, the son of Elton L. and Evon Williams Lyons. He attended UNC at Chapel Hill. He was employed for 40 years with Alcatel Lucent before retiring. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Vietnam War. David attended Good Hope Baptist Church.
On August 4, 1973 he was married to the former Patricia Crowder who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia C. Lyons are two daughters, Marsha Vazquez and husband Santos of Randleman, Catherine Michelle Lyons of the home; one son, Jason David Lyons and wife Peggie of Greensboro; two sisters, Carolyn Blodget of Davenport, Iowa, Dorothy Wilder of Thomasville and three grandchildren, Lee Clark, Brandi Childress and Chloe Christine Lyons.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Interment with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel and at other times at 1111 Highland Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403.
